How Much Does It Cost to Hire an App Development Company?

Realistic 2026 ranges for MVPs, growth builds and platform work — plus the pricing models and what each one hides.

Ranges that hold up

A focused MVP with authentication, a core loop, a backend and analytics typically lands between $60,000 and $120,000. A growth build with payments, richer content, admin tooling and a second platform sits between $120,000 and $250,000. Platform work with complex integrations, compliance or AI infrastructure moves past that.

Engagements with Wve Labs start around $25,000, normally a discovery and prototype phase you can fund in stages before committing to a full build.

Pricing models

Fixed-bid buys certainty and punishes change. Time and materials is honest and needs disciplined scope control. Phased fixed-scope — our default — gives a defined deliverable per phase with a real decision point between them.

What inflates a quote unnecessarily

Two native platforms before validation. Custom design for screens seen once. Premature infrastructure. Features nobody has evidence for. We would rather cut those in discovery than bill them.

What it should always include

Analytics from the first release, QA and store submission, a documented handover, and source you own. If those are missing from an estimate, the estimate is not comparable.
