React Native vs Flutter: Choosing a Cross-Platform Partner
An honest comparison of the two dominant cross-platform frameworks — performance, hiring, native module risk and when to skip both.
React Native
Best when your team already writes TypeScript, when you want to share logic with a web product, or when you expect to hire from a deep talent pool. The new architecture closed most of the historic performance gap for typical product UI.
Flutter
Best when the interface is highly custom and motion-heavy, and when pixel-identical rendering across platforms matters. Dart is a smaller hiring pool but a productive one, and the widget model makes bespoke design systems fast to build.
When to skip both
Heavy on-device media processing, tight integration with new OS features on release day, or extreme performance targets still favour native. So does a product where one platform carries the overwhelming majority of revenue.
How we decide with clients
We pick the framework from the product's interaction demands, your hiring plan and the roadmap after launch — not from an in-house preference. Either way you own the code and the architecture documentation.
